Owner of Alight Therapy

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) practicing in San Diego. I specialize in working with adolescents, adults, and families. I have a particular interest in helping individuals who struggle with eating disorders, anxiety, depression, body image, and relationship issues.

I work with clients primarily through the lens and practices of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Bowen Family Systems Theory.

I value working with a wide range of people of all sizes, races, sexual orientations, and gender identities. I am a member of the LGBTQIA+ community and have lived experience with eating disorder recovery.

In addition to my clinical training, I have spent over a decade working both in the domestic US and internationally educating adolescents and young adults (ages 13-22) on self-empowerment, interpersonal skills, values-based living, and self acceptance.

Outside of my work as a therapist, I love watching soccer games (Go Wave & USWNT!), adventuring around San Diego / Orange County, and listening (almost exclusively) to Taylor Swift.

Kristen Hendry, AMFT

she / her / hers

I am an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT) practicing in West Los Angeles. I believe in creating a space where clients can show up exactly where they are and explore what is and isn’t working in their lives. I am passionate about working with adolescents, adults, and families. I integrate therapies such as Emotion Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, and Bowen Family Systems while also being mindful that what each client needs is different.

I work through a feminist lens by incorporating how our intersecting identities influence our unique experience, exploring the systemic pressures imposed upon these identities, and building awareness around clients' own autonomy.

When I am not seeing clients, I like to spend time outside with my dog Della, rollerblade, find special treasures at flea markets, and sit down with a good book. One of my favorite books is Tiny Beautiful Things by Cheryl Strayed and a book I am currently reading is Heaven by Emerson Whitney.

Kristen is seeing clients virtually through a secure Telehealth platform.
